My other son, Nik...

As I was going through my blog...I noticed that I don't have any pictures of my oldest son, Nik. I do take a lot of pictures of him but he is usually making super silly faces...here are some of them...

See...this is what I mean!!!

This is one of my favorites...

So there is my oldest son, Nik. I will try to post more of him if he can stop being a comedian 24/7!

Briley, my new foster dog!

Briley is my newest foster dog. She came from a North Central LA Shelter. I got her August 19, 2010. She seems to be a great dog and loves my kids and dogs. Here are some pictures I took of her this morning! She is a Rottie/Collie mix...

Bri's First Day of Kindergarten

Bri's first day of Kindergarten was August 11, 2010. She was SO excited and ready for school. She didn't want me there. She said she was a big girl. I guess that's better than crying and throwing a fit for weeks because I am not there. I really wasn't too sad. I know it will be different when Linc goes to school, he is the last one. It will be bittersweet, my last baby will be in school, BUT I will have some MUCH NEEDED alone time! When Linc goes to school it will be 16 years since I have have some alone time at home with NO kids. Anyway, here are some pictures of Bri's first day of school...

Linc's First Birthday Present...

I ordered Linc's "big" birthday present May 21st. It just got here yesterday. I was hoping it would've been here for his birthday so some of the kids that were at his party could play with it. But exactly 2 months later it arrived...

So apparently he LOVES it!

I guess it's better than having him play in the dog's water bowl.

Of course, Bri had to help Linc get wet and show him how everything works!

I guess I chose a really good birthday present for him because he couldn't stop smiling!

So, for those of you who couldn't make his party. Here is a video of us singing "Happy Birthday" and a  picture of the awesome cake Christine made!

Is this cake AWESOME or what!?!

The Life of the Murdock Family...

I have decided (once again) to try to start blogging. I would like to add new entries a couple times a week and add pictures of our growing children. Plus, I am trying to do a total body transformation (which is going to be something only a miracle can do)...LOL! I have started on cutting my hair super short (or short for me). I had almost 10 inches cut off! But now I have SUPER healthy hair. It always used to be dry and frizzy. Now it's smooth and, for the most part, straight. The rest of the total body tranformation is going to deal with me working out, which I have had NO motivation for. It's hard for me to have the motivation when Linc (Lincoln), my 13 month old, is teething and wakes up 4 to 5 times during the night. It makes for a LONG day for me. I am also trying to keep our house in top shape by using the flylady.com cleaning routine. I highly recommend it for anyone. There are even routines for kids which I am going to use with my two older children once school starts. Most of you know the Murdock family since you are either friends or family so I don't need to go through my life story, not that it's super interesting.

So I will start off with Linc's Dr.'s appointment yesterday. Linc had his 1 year check up, even though he is 13 months. The reciptionist at his Dr.'s office didn't schedule in his appointment for June so we had to do is appointment a month later. So, anyway, Linc weighs 26 1/2 lbs and is almost 32 inches tall. He is in the 95th percentile for his age. I asked the Dr. if that is okay. He said Linc is perfectly fine because he is proportionate. Linc is getting in his 4th tooth. YAY! Or not...him getting up every 2 hours is NOT fun! Especially when I NEED 10 hours of sleep in order to function! I am getting pretty good with 4 to 5 hours of sleep, but a full night's sleep of a least 8 hours would be nice.

My curly-haired little surfer boy at 13 months.

Nik will be going to summer camp through our church the first week of August up in the San Bernadino Mountains. He loves going and looks forward to it every year.

Nik and Bri will be starting school August 11th. Nik will be in 7th grade and Bri will be in Kindergarten. Nik is getting excited to get back to school to see his friends. Bri is excited to start to make some new friends. Her Kindergarten program is half day and she is in the AM program, which should make for an interesting year. I get to drop Nik off at school, drop Bri off at school, pick Bri up, come home, pick up Nik, and come home. At least it's only for a year, but then I guess I will have the same issue when Nik goes to high school and then again when Bri is in middle school and Linc starts school!
